Topping Congress’s agenda as it returns this week is a plan to “jump-start the economy and try to shorten the slowdown that many economists say has already begun to take hold.”
Today, Rep. Eric Cantor (VA), the chief deputy Republican whip in the House, unveiled his proposal to stimulate the economy. His legislation - the so-called Middle Class Job Protection Act - does nothing for the middle class. Instead, it reduces the corporate tax rate by 25 percent.
At a press conference today unveiling the stimulus proposal, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) justified the conservative plan to give tax breaks to corporations - instead of working Americans - by arguing that people actually like working long hours.
"I am so proud to be from the state of Minnesota. We’re the workingest state in the country, and the reason why we are, we have more people that are working longer hours, we have people that are working two jobs." (workingest???)
Bachmann’s version of the American Dream is apparently working two full-time jobs and struggling to get by.
Hear that, John Edwards?
Americans like working two jobs so corporations can get tax breaks.
The dark underbelly of America contains numerous warts, boils, and cancerous tumors, inflicted by that loathsome grimoire of madness that the elected leaders of our nation have become.
Well, I'm FedUp and I'm not taking it any more!

Liberals got women the right to vote.
Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote.
Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty.
Liberals ended segregation.
Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act.
Liberals created Medicare.
Liberals passed the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
What did the ignorant conservatives do?
They opposed them on every one of those things.
Every damn one!
So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, 'Liberal,' as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work because I will pick up that label and I will wear it as a badge of honor.

Why else would a republican finally admit that the economy sucks? Because there's something in for them. You know dam well CitiCorp will be bailed out with our money as well.
There was a stupid republican on the news this morning, can't remember his name because who cares what his name is, he's a stupid republican, he
said that consumer confidence is low however personal finances are not affected by this. What the hell is he talking about? If you're not confident about the economy then it means your personal finances HAVE been affected. Who do these stupid republicans think they're kidding?
A financial analyst also said that we should watch our spending and go get a second job to "ride this out". What freakin job is she talking about? She didn't offer anyone a job, she just said go get one. Where? Should we go beg McDonalds to fire the beaners so we can have a second job?
The republicans are the dumbest Americans, I know, I deal with them all day long at work. They have no common sense and they rely on less than half of a brain.
It's great to see that Wall Street is crumbling, I've been waiting for this day. Now, our economy official sucks.
What are we going to do about it? Spend your money wisely. Do not give it to companies that have adopted the Walmart business plan. This is our chance to put a lot of undesirable companies out of business.
