Talk about a sign of the times.
Whether it be the toxicity of Bush, the toxicity of the Republican brand or the acknowledgment that Republican incumbents in 2008 had better stay home and earn votes rather than attend the Republican convention, this really can't be good:
Nine of 12 targeted Republicans running in the most competitive Senate races this fall are either skipping the Republican convention in St. Paul, Minn., or have not decided whether to attend.
Among those who will not attend are Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska, who is not close to presumptive presidential nominee Sen. John McCain of Arizona, and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, who is a McCain loyalist. Stevens and Collins will use the convention week to focus on their campaigns.
Also sending regrets is former Rep. Bob Schaffer of Colorado, running for the seat being vacated by retiring GOP Sen. Wayne Allard.
Six others -- Sens. Roger Wicker of Mississippi, John Sununu of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina and Gordon Smith of Oregon and challengers John Kennedy of Louisiana and Rep. Steve Pearce of New Mexico are still on the fence. Their spokesman offered responses ranging from "there are no plans yet" to "no decisions have been made."
Scratch that. Senator Dole is no longer on the fence.
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina won't be attending the Republican national convention, which begins over Labor Day weekend.
Her spokeswoman, Katie Hallaway, said people shouldn't read too much into the decision -- either about the senator's support for John McCain, her party's likely nominee, or about how she views the security of her re-election in November against Democratic state senator Kay Hagan.
Oh, no, of course not. We wouldn't do such a thing. What's Dole's reasoning?
"She's got a busy week scheduled in North Carolina," Hallaway said. "When there are breaks in the Senate schedule, she spends as much time as possible in North Carolina."
Hmm, interesting, she found time for a prime time spot at the 2004 convention.
And here's Susan Collins' excuse:
"She is going to spend the time in Maine campaigning," said Steve Abbott, her campaign manager. "The conventions are too close to the election for a federal candidate to give up the time to attend, especially a current office holder who has to be in Washington for a busy legislative session for much of September."
Abbott would also like to remind us that Collins did not attend the '96 convention either. Of course, she wasn't in the Senate yet and she did attend the two subsequent conventions during her time in the senate, not to mention she's one of John McCain's campaign co-chairs. But other than that, really, it's no biggie that she won't be in Minneapolis to celebrate John McCain's acceptance of the 2008 nomination.
So, of the top targeted senate races, which GOP incumbents will be attending the festivities? Looks like McCain will be surrounded by Mitch McConnell and Norm Coleman, who lobbied to get Minneapolis to host the event. Wanna bet Norm is having second thoughts about that decision right about now?
The dark underbelly of America contains numerous warts, boils, and cancerous tumors, inflicted by that loathsome grimoire of madness that the elected leaders of our nation have become.
Well, I'm FedUp and I'm not taking it any more!

Republicans Don'T Want To Hang With Other Republicans

Nancy, Nancy, Nancy
What a dumb cunt.
And whats with Barbara Walters kissing her ass like that? I thought she was an "in your face" journalist. Has her role on The View softened up her once hard edge?
Caller: "Is Speaker Pelosi in?"
Receptionist: "May I tell her who's calling?"
Caller: "This is Dennis Kucinich."
Receptionist: "May I tell her what this is regarding?"
Caller: "Yesterday on The View, Speaker Pelosi said she wanted proof of the crimes of George Bush and Dick Cheney. I'd like to set up an appointment to meet with her, and present her with the evidence she needs."
Receptionist: "I see. Please hold."
(Long pause)
Receptionist: "Speaker Pelosi is not available right now, Representative Kucinich. Would you like her voice mail?"
Caller: "Yes, please. And would you also make sure she knows I'd like to set up a meeting with her as soon as possible?"
Receptionist: "Of course. Please hold for her voice mail."
Voice mail system: "Mailbox full."
Kucinich ought to just hand carry the evidence he has over to Pelosi's office, since she's apparently been so busy writing her book that she hasn't had time for less important things, like living up to her oath of office, protecting the Constitution of the United States of America, and DOING HER FUCKING JOB!
By the way, Nancy, the House is supposed to investigate and come up with the proof. You shouldn't need to see proof up front to initiate an investigation, just reasonable cause that a crime has been committed.
Or are you now on the republicunt payroll?

A Dear John Letter
Dear Grampa McShitstain,
Let me be completely honest right from the start: I am a not a Republican (which you probably knew the minute I mentioned being honest).
I am a Democrat, and therefore do not want you to win this election.
No offense, but we’ve already endured almost eight years of an incompetent liar in the Oval Office, and we both know the country cannot survive another.
I realize I am asking a lot of you, but anything you can do to ensure that you never see the inside of the White House (other than as President Obama’s guest) would be a true act of patriotism on your part.
To that end, I was just wondering if you could follow one or two of my suggestions below:
- Make the linchpin of your campaign the idea that staying in Iraq for a hundred years or more is a great idea. This will go over extremely well with the majority of the voters, who want out of Iraq – NOW.
- Distinguish yourself from your well-liked, young and energetic opponent by acting surly as often as possible. Adopting a hey, you kids, get off my lawn image should do it.
- While your opponent is being warmly greeted by international heads of state, visit a fudge ‘n sausage-type eatery. Be sure to be photographed pathetically doing same, accompanied by a doofy-looking fellow GOPer (Lindsay Graham immediately comes to mind, but you’ll have to check on his availability).
- Talk about a country that no longer exists as though it still does. Once will be taken as a simple gaffe; mentioning it three or four times will prove that you don’t know what you’re taking about.
- Play-up your opponent’s lack of knowledge about the situation in Iraq while, at the same time, you confuse Shia and Sunni, and the timing of events that have occurred during the occupation.
- The single most important issue in this election is the economy. Mentioning that you don’t understand “the economy” or how it “works” will drive millions of voters into the Obama camp.
- Make shit up – especially stuff that the entire world knows to be blatantly untrue (e.g. “We were greeted as liberators”.)
- Demonstrate that you are out-of-touch with the average voter by arranging a photo-op in a supermarket, where you wear a business suit while “shopping”, and have to refer to notes before “remembering” the current price of milk.
- Nothing is more effective than playing the pot-kettle-black game; e.g. highlight your opponent’s dismissiveness of the plight of active soldiers and veterans after you have consistently voted against bills that would assist them.
- Cement your I-got-nuthin’ image by criticizing your opponent’s accomplishments and plans for the future, instead of offering any of your own. If you must speak about yourself, constant references to having been a POW and how that alone qualifies you to run the country will suffice in making you look utterly ridiculous.
- Your opponent is known for being able to draw huge crowds. Whining about it at every opportunity will go a long way in shoring-up your image as an envious, petulant complainer – so Bush-like, it’s bound to scare even the most dedicated Republican into voting Democratic.
- Air TV ads that feature “facts” that have already been debunked; e.g. “Obama refused to meet with wounded soldiers.”
- Act and speak in ways that call your mental stability into question. Not being able to “recall” how you voted on issues over your senatorial career will bolster the idea that you are (a) intellectually incapable of leading a nation, and/or (b) senile. It’s a win-win situation, if you can convincingly pull it off.
- Choose surrogates and spokespeople who will insult voters on a regular basis (e.g. calling people who have lost their jobs, homes, savings and pensions “whiners”, or declaring the current state of the failing economy as only existing in people’s minds.)
- Attack programs that have worked well for decades, e.g. Social Security, and vow to rid the nation of such evil. This will go over especially well with seniors, who tend to vote more consistently than other age groups.
- Mention how you know how to win wars and bring Osama Bin Laden to justice. This will undoubtedly lead to voters wondering why you haven't shared such vital information with anyone before now - or if you're just talking out of your own ass.
- I don’t know how willing your family is to help out. But if your wife could make some comment that cements your image as a filthy rich couple (maybe something about the need to own a private jet?) it should cost you support among voters struggling to make ends meet. (If your daughter could run-up a monthly credit card debt equivalent to more than the yearly income of many US families, it would be icing on the cake – but I don’t want to get crazy here!)
- A few at-your-discretion serving suggestions: point out how your opponent is a flip-flopper while changing your own positions, complain about how the media is in the tank for Obama contemporaneous with their publicly kissing your ass, et cetera.
John, I realize I am asking a lot here. But your nation’s wellbeing is at stake.
I have already stated that I don’t want to see you elected, but I would warn you that following one or two suggestions outlined above – three at most – will be more than sufficient in ensuring Obama’s victory in November.
Anything more would be over-kill, so please use caution; doing all of the above will go much further than simply leading to your defeat – it will make you look like a clueless idiot.
Thanks in advance for putting your country’s welfare above winning an election.
It’s heartening to know that we have a true patriot in this race.
Yours Truly,
Fed Up American

McShitstain And His Failed Campaign
As many of you are aware, John McCain’s campaign is a total disaster – and it gets worse every day.

To Hold Accountable
Twice in the past seven years, assclown bush, a self-proclaimed devout Christian, placed his hand on the Holy Bible and swore, in front of his countrymen and in front of the world, to uphold and protect the Constitution of the Unites States of America, so help him God.
On December 16, 2005, George W. Bush admitted, arrogantly and with a sense of entitlement, that he had violated that solemn oath. As an American citizen, I hereby demand his immediate resignation.
In the past seven years, we, as a nation, have watched the ideals of our beloved country turned upside down. We have seen citizen turned against citizen, a division encouraged by the very person who swore to lead all Americans, not the chosen few.
We have witnessed torture at the hands of our own countrymen; we have watched helplessly as our fellow citizens suffered the effects of Hurricane Katrina, abandoned and without hope of any meaningful assistance.
We are now having to fight for the reinstitution of fair elections and transparency of government, things that are our birthright as citizens of a democracy. We have seen the gutting of the social safety-nets that have long been in place to keep the poorer among us secure. We have watched as our jobs are outsourced to markets where slave labor is the norm. We have lost the friendship and respect of our global neighbours, and gained the enmity of many peoples around the world.
This cannot stand.
The partisan bickering that has been rife during this Administration has exceeded all bounds of good statesmanship, good government, and good taste. And the voters have, in poll after poll, made their disgust abundantly clear.
Now is the time for all good men to come not to the aid of their party, but to the aid of their country. If you don't, American democracy will hereafter be spoken about in the past tense. Now is the time for all elected representatives, from both sides of the aisle, to stand up for the one concept that surely both parties must agree on: that preserving our great nation takes precedence over all else.
We stand on the brink of disaster, and it only takes a few good men and women to save our country from faltering at this moment in our history. Will we choose to continue as a democracy, or will we simply stand idly by and watch one single arrogant man make a mockery of everything we have stood for over the last two centuries?
Over the past seven years, we have heard republicunts make excuse after excuse for this president, as he has violated, again and again, the very ideals he has sworn to preserve. Too many truly good people have chosen the path of least resistance, and have contented themselves with remaining silent as this Admistration has lied to the citizenry and waged war on all who would criticize or take a stand against them.
The president's behavior has demonstrated that he is not fit for office. He has single-handedly ruined our economy, plunged the country into unconscionable debt, and is waging war on the poor and middle class with every policy he endorses. His handling of the war in Iraq has, from the beginning, been convoluted and ill-conceived, and the death toll among our own soldiers and the innocent people of Iraq is a testament to his ineptitude.
But surely he has now gone too far for excuses to be proferred, for leeway to be given, for eyes to be averted in the hope that others, too, will look the other way.
There is a need for impeachment hearings, for witnesses to be called, for triers of fact to be summoned. george w. bush has broken the laws of our country, and has openly admitted doing so.
I would strongly urge all elected representatives to stand together and do what must be done. Our embattled democracy has already suffered far too much, and for far too long. They must beseech the president, in the strongest language possible, to do what is best for all of us: he must resign or be impeached.
I remember the day Richard Nixon boarded Air Force One for the last time, a man broken by his own ambition, his own arrogance, his own delusions of being a citizen beyond questioning or reproach. As much as most people wanted to see him out of office, there were no parades, no celebrations; it was a sad day for all Americans. And even in the face of his own public humiliation, Nixon finally chose to do the honorable thing; rather than put the country through the disgrace that would accompany the impeachment process: he resigned.
In the face of what George W. Bush has done, and has admitted to doing, there is no room for negotiations, for compromise, for discussion.

Fuck Nancy Pelosi
At 10 a.m. on Friday July 25th, the House Judiciary Committee will hold a preliminary hearing on the topic of impeachment, with a presentation by Congressman Dennis Kucinich.
This is not yet a true impeachment hearing, but it is our opportunity to push for one, and it represents a tremendous victory after years of effort by millions of Americans who want to keep the Constitution alive.
This never would have happened without your hard work. And we can't let up now!
The National Impeachment Network is organizing a rally and asking everyone who can to take a day off for justice and meet at 9 a.m. on Friday July 25th in front of the Rayburn House Office Building on the Independence Avenue side. Bring impeachment shirts and posters! For more information contact ningroup@gmail.com
NOTE: The hearing has not been announced, but two members of Congress closely involved in this have told us it is at 10 a.m. on the 25th, and Chairman Conyers himself has so informed Veterans for Peace.Between now and Friday the 25th, please take these steps:
Contact your member of Congress in support of impeachment.

republicans Are Insane
You would have to be nuts to vote for a republican.
For President.
For Senator.
For Congress.
For ANYTHING!
You would have to be out of your friggin' mind.
A mental.
Looney tunes.
Not all there.
Yet there are a small percentage of the American population that thinks bush is doing a good job. No doubt financially benefiting from the crimes committed over the last near eight years. There are even some McCain supporters out there that can't handle the fact that a black man WILL be the next American president.
Its quite funny to watch them, in their "Curly shuffle" attempts in discrediting Obama with lies and bullshit. Much like the lies and bullshit that American's were fed during bush's failed presidency.
But these people are mental.
Delussional.
They have a sickness.
A disease or the brain.
Its called republicuntardation.
The entire party is filled with pedophiles, sexual deviates, criminals and closet homosexuals. All profess to have "traditional" family values (for the Adams family maybe) and have a "personal" relationship with something that they like to call God. (but is unlike ANY god that I would want to know)
They will kill their neighbors if given a chance to possess their neighbors land, home and toys and care NOTHING about humanity or assisting their fellow man. Unless of course they can profit from it.
You would have to be ABSOLUTELY CRAZY to vote for any one of these idiots.

Senator Alzheimers
The self-professed candidate of “straight talk” and “experience” spent today changing his position on gay adoption, adopting Senator Obama’s position that we need more troops in Afghanistan after having resisted taking that position, flip flopping on whether he’d send U.S. or NATO troops (he actually offered three different explanations on where those additional troops would come from), and referring to a country that hasn’t existed since 1992 for the second time in two days.
Afghanistan
LAST WEEK: Christian Science Monitor Reported that McCain “Has Resisted Calls For More Troops In Afghanistan.” “McCain has resisted calls for more troops in Afghanistan and has rejected criticism that the Iraq war is detracting from efforts to secure Afghanistan. He labeled Barack Obama ‘naïve’ for saying he'd strike terrorist targets in Pakistan with or without the cooperation of President Pervez Musharraf. … Aides to the Arizona senator said Wednesday that he continued to view success in Iraq as the best chance for victory in the global war on terror. ‘As on many things, Senator Obama is not listening to our commanders, and Senator McCain is,’ says Kori Schake, a senior policy adviser to McCain. ‘General David Petraeus believes Iraq is the central front in the war on terror. Al Qaeda has even said it is.’ … Ms. Schake's comments came about two hours after Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said additional troops were needed in Afghanistan but that too many were tied down in Iraq to send more.” [Christian Science Monitor, 7/7/08]
MONDAY (MORNING): McCain Called for Sending Three Additional Brigades to Afghanistan and Suggests They Would Come From Iraq. According to a press release issued by the McCain campaign on Tuesday morning, McCain would announce in a speech that he now supports sending at least three additional brigades to Afghanistan: “The status quo in Afghanistan is unacceptable, and from the moment the next President walks into the Oval Office, he will face critical decisions about Afghanistan. … John McCain Supports Sending At Least Three Additional Brigades To Afghanistan. Our commanders on the ground say they need these troops, and thanks to the success of the surge, these forces are becoming available, and our commanders in Afghanistan must get them.” [McCain press release, 7/15/08]
MONDAY (AFTERNOON): McCain Clarifies His Proposal On Increasing the Number of Troops, Saying They Could Come From NATO. “Speaking to reporters on his bus after today's speech, McCain indicated that he'd be open to those additional troops coming from NATO.” [MSNBC, 7/15/08]
MONDAY (EVEN LATER IN THE AFTERNOON): McCain Campaign Further Clarifies Proposal, Saying The Troop Increase Would Be Comprised Of Both NATO And US Forces. “McCain spokeswoman Nicolle Wallace said later that U.S. troops will compose some of the additional brigades McCain would send to Afghanistan, but not all of them. ‘Will we contribute? Of course we will,’ she said.” [Washington Post, 5/15/08]
GAY ADOPTION
SUNDAY: New York Times Quoted McCain Saying That He Doesn’t Believe In Gay Adoption. “Mr. McCain, who with his wife, Cindy, has an adopted daughter, said flatly that he opposed allowing gay couples to adopt. ‘I think that we’ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don’t believe in gay adoption,’ he said.” [New York Times, 7/13/08]
MONDAY: McCain Campaign Clarified Position; Said It Was A State Issue And That McCain Believes “Caring Parental Figures Are Better For The Child Than The Alternative.” “On Tuesday, as criticism of McCain's comments spread, his campaign elaborated on the candidate's views. ‘John McCain could have been clearer in the interview in stating that his position on gay adoption is that it is a state issue. ... He was not endorsing any federal legislation,’ a campaign statement said. ‘Sen. McCain's expressed his personal preference for children to be raised by a mother and a father wherever possible,’ the statement added. ‘However, as an adoptive father himself, McCain believes children deserve loving and caring home environments, and he recognizes that there are many abandoned children who have yet to find homes. John McCain believes that in those situations that caring parental figures are better for the child than the alternative.’” [Associated Press, 7/15/08]
Czechoslovakia
For the Second Day In A Row, McCain Refers to Czechoslovakia – A Country That No Longer Exists. As MSNBC noted, “For the second time in two days, McCain has made a reference to ‘Czechoslovakia.’ His answers were about contemporary events, not history. McCain did not use the current name Czech Republic, the country formed in January 1993 when Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The first instance was yesterday during a media news availability and the second today during a town hall meeting.” [MSNBC’s First Read, 7/15/08, http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/07/15/1200003.aspx]
ABC News Noted That This Isn’t The First Time McCain Has Mistakenly Referred to Czechoslovakia. “In early 2000, then-Gov. George W. Bush told Roger Simon, then with U.S. News & World Report, that he was befuddled by how soft the media was on Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. ‘I don't think there is any plot; I hope there isn't,’ Bush said. "But it's an amazing phenomenon, I'll tell you that. It's like the flap over the foreign-leader deal. A guy gets up and quizzes me -- it's my fault for trying to answer -- but John McCain says something about the 'ambassador to Czechoslovakia.' Well, I know there is no Czechoslovakia (there's a Czech Republic and a Slovakia), but yet it didn't make the nightly national news.
Politico: McCain Campaign Released Statement Yesterday “Cleaning Up” The Reference to Czechoslovakia. As the Politico noted, “yesterday, McCain's campaign sent out a statement pointedly referring to the ‘Czech Republic,’ cleaning up his latest reference to the defunct state of Czechoslovakia.” [Politico, 5/15/08, http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0708/Jeste_jednou_Czechoslovakia.html]

Deal With It!
I realize it’s just my personal opinion, one that is shared by countless numbers of people, both republican and democrat and I damn sure have a right to express it.
Barack Obama WILL be the next president of the United States.
I trust his judgment, and his ability to navigate what are often troubling political waters without losing sight of our ultimate destination.
I admire his determination, and believe it is focused not on achieving what is best for himself, or even what is best for me as an individual, but what is best for our country.
I support not only his ideas, but his ideals – and wholeheartedly so. I want to see those ideas implemented and those ideals adopted, not as some radical new philosophy, but as the norm.
I listen to his words and I take them to heart; I find them encouraging, hopeful, and truly inspiring.
I watch the way he moves, the way he reaches out, the way he invites dialogue and encourages participation, and I see something I haven’t seen in a very long time – someone who has a solid grasp on reality viewed through the lens of common sense, rather than a tenuous hold on undeliverable promises to be sold to the masses with political rhetoric.
I love my country, and most of my fellow countrymen. And more often than not, that love requires a little show of strength even you didn’t know you had, and a little willingness to put your trust in someone in the White House again.
I’ve put my trust in Barack Obama – not because of who he is, but because of what he stands for. I refuse to parse his every statement in hopes of unearthing a contradiction he can be skewered with; I refuse to second-guess his every move on the assumption that I somehow know better than he does how to move this nation forward. Most of all, I steadfastly refuse to hand the enemy an ounce of ammunition with which to shoot down the man who stands between real democracy and a continuation of the failed policies of the idiot in chief and the STUPID ASS republican party.
And he will WITHOUT A DOUBT be the next president of the United States.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeee's Baaaaaaaaack!
Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) returned to the Senate Wednesday to break a stalemate on critical stalled Medicare legislation, making his first appearance on the Hill since he was diagnosed with brain cancer two months ago
CNN reported earlier that the return was in doubt because his family was concerned the travel would be too strenuous.
Senate Republicans have been stalling legislation that would reverse a cut in doctors’ Medicare fees by reducing payments to insurance companies. Earlier, in an unusual move, House Republicans defied their leadership and supported the Democratic measure.
In addition to Kennedy’s vote, several Republican Senators switched their votes and the legislation moved past a procedural hurdle, 69-23.
Sen. John McCain skipped the vote. (Of couse the senile old fuck probably slept through his alarm
Today, the Senate chamber erupted into loud cheers when Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) returned to cast his vote on long-stalled Medicare legislation. Senators gave Kennedy, who has been battling a brain tumor, a long standing ovation. As he registered his vote, Kennedy said in a loud voice, “Aye,” and made a thumbs-up gesture.
And God love Pete Stark:
Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) puts out a statement ripping McCain: “Senator Kennedy managed to make it back from treatment for cancer, but Senator McCain couldn’t be bothered. Senator McCain, who wants to be our next President, has skipped this vote three times now. Clearly, he’d rather hide than face up to the insurance industry. You can do that when you’re in the U.S. Senate, maybe voters should leave him there.”
Riding The Short Bus To The White House
The hits keep on coming in the never ending list of scandals for the bush minions.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said on Monday he is negotiating a deal with
Washington that will for the first time set a timetable for a withdrawal of
foreign forces as part of a framework for a US troop presence into next year.
Iraqi politicians have not only bristled at the duration of any continuing defence pact with the United States, they have also expressed reservations about how many bases Washington should retain, what powers the US military should continue to hold to detain Iraqi civilians, and what immunity US troops should have from US law.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari has said that Washington has agreed to one key demand from Baghdad, the scrapping of immunity from prosecution in Iraq of the tens of thousands of foreign security contractors operating in the country.
Timetables for withdrawal?
And finally, there is the ultimate Slow Learner (retard) in Chief, who was told by Pres. Clinton and Richard Clarke in no uncertain terms that his biggest concern entering the Oval Office would be al Qaeda. Now it’s bush’s turn to get his successor up-to-date on the biggest threats. Guess what his report says?
Now bush has weighed in on his successor’s big problem: Not Iraq, but Pakistan. Pakistan, home of al Qaeda. Al Qaeda now back to its pre- 9/11 strength, plotting its next attacks, in a Pakistani safe haven that was created in a stunning act of appeasement, approved and defended by bush.
Heckuva job, (asshole) bushie.

FISA In Perspective
In the aftermath of Sept. 11, the White House directed telecommunications carriers to cooperate with its efforts to bolster intelligence gathering and surveillance -- the administration's effort to do a better job of "connecting the dots" to prevent terrorist attacks.
No, it actually started a few weeks after Bush took office. A time when the Bush administration was ignoring the terrorist threat. So it was about something else, and was a high enough priority to plan out during the transition.
Washington Post Story
One telecom company, Qwest, refused because it was flat-out illegal.
The combination of the telecoms letting bush illegally spy on us BEFORE September 11, and the politicized bush Justice Department punishing the company that refused - refused because it was illegal - is the reason so many of us are so adamant that Democrats should not be passing a law giving these companies immunity.
Remember Watergate was about republicans illegally wiretapping Democrats.

The Dumbing Down Of America
Just how stupid are Americans?
Pretty stupid, it would seem, when we see more people concerned about American Idol, The Simpsons and whoever the paparazzi are chasing that day.
"The study by the new McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum found that 22 percent of Americans could name all five Simpson family members, compared with just 1 in 1,000 people who could name all five First Amendment freedoms."
That’s 1/10th of 1%.
But what does it mean exactly to say that American voters are stupid?
About this there is unfortunately no consensus. Like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, who confessed not knowing how to define pornography, we are apt simply to throw up our hands in frustration and say: We know it when we see it. But unless we attempt a definition of some sort, we risk incoherence, dooming our investigation of stupidity from the outset. Stupidity cannot mean, as Humpty Dumpty would have it, whatever we say it means.
Five defining characteristics of stupidity, it seems to me, are readily apparent.
First, is sheer ignorance: Ignorance of critical facts about important events in the news, and ignorance of how our government functions and who's in charge.
Second, is negligence: The disinclination to seek reliable sources of information about important news events.
Third, is wooden-headedness, as the historian Barbara Tuchman defined it: The inclination to believe what we want to believe regardless of the facts.
Fourth, is shortsightedness: The support of public policies that are mutually contradictory, or contrary to the country's long-term interests.
Fifth, and finally, is a broad category I call bone-headedness, for want of a better name: The susceptibility to meaningless phrases, stereotypes, irrational biases, and simplistic diagnoses and solutions that play on our hopes and fears.

Will be one year old next month.
The book that I've written: To Serve and Protect? - MY ASS!was written to help combat the fascist police and law enforcement tactics with education. Something they fear.
It is the ultimate guide to dealing with law enforcement.
The price pont I'm looking at for the book is a $5 download and it will also be available as a hard copy but I haven't quite firgued out the price yet of that.
I hope you all will check it out because it contains knowledge that EVERY American should know about, whether they have police contact or not. The information contained in To Serve and Protect? - MY ASS! will be priceless when the information is needed most.
I'll keep you posted on the launch.
Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote.
Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty.
Liberals ended segregation.
Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act.
Liberals created Medicare.
Liberals passed the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
What did the ignorant conservatives do?
They opposed them on every one of those things.
Every damn one!
So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, 'Liberal,' as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work because I will pick up that label and I will wear it as a badge of honor.
