Although economic growth has been an important driver of human progress in the past, we in the developed world must now look elsewhere for improvements in our quality of life.
As our quality of life is so often defined in terms of material living standards and national income and debt per person, it might seem un-American to even think about sacrificing our quality of life for what we know we need to do to survive the currently challenging economic times.
As Americans, we need to see and act upon the writing on the wall. I have been teling people for years now about the pitfalls of credit cards and now - these same people, the ones that did not heed my advice, the ones that thought I was just some crazy ass radical – are suffering financially because they can no longer afford their unnecessary and useless trinkets they were used to buying.
Although economic growth has been the most important driver of human progress in the past and still has a crucial role to play in improving lives in developing countries – two of which our military has invaded and occupied - we in America must now look elsewhere for further improvements in the real quality of life.
Income inequality in the United States is at an all-time high, surpassing even levels seen during the Great Depression, Though income inequality has been growing for some time, what is even more disturbing is of wealth distribution in America . where the top 1% of American earners took home more than half of total wages in the entire country, a level that's higher than any other year since the “Great Depression” and THAT lasted 10 years.
The current financial crisis America finds itself in has spurred many policymakers to meet challenges with bold, creative, non-partisan solutions but AS USUAL AND AS HISTORY HAS SHOWN, republicans are focusing their effort to thwart any chance of national economic recovery.
But what would you expect from a country that suffered 8 years under the rule of george bush, the republicans and all the failed polices that went along with their regime of terror?
And it was AMERICANS that were stupid enough to vote for the idiots in the first place.
So you have to ask yourself – are YOU Fed Up yet?
