Within the next two weeks, the number of American troops killed in Iraq is likely to reach 4,000, assuming that the average number of fatal casualties per day remains steady.
It is an arbitrary number, given meaning by the fact that the nation may briefly take notice, but a day will come in this presidential campaign when Sen. John McCain must explain what he thinks we have gained by the sacrifice of those men and women.
But I would like to pose that question to every idiot war monger out there that supports bushies OCCUPATION of Iraq.
What have we gained?
At what cost?
Is it worth it?
Consider the costs...
- $275 million per day.
- $4,100 per household.
- Almost 4,000 U.S. soldiers killed and more than 60,000 wounded. Not to mention those that have come home with UNTREATED PTSD and other diseases and war related illnesses being brought back home that will haunt America for generations to come.
- Over 100,000,000 Iraqis killed and 4 million refugees created.
- America, under bush, has become the disgrace of the world.
- Exponential growth of global terrorism.
- Funding the war has bankrupted the U.S. and is rapidly pushing us toward a severe economic recession if not a full blown depression.
- A war that will be paid for by our children's children.
