It is a well know fact that our military uses brainwashing techniques however that does not excuse these bad apples.

I respect those that go awol or find a way to be relieved of their duty. At least these people are not so far gone. We know that they were not so suceptible to the brainwashing and there is hope for them. We know these troops may actually be capable of protecting America.
Folks like Smitty is a fine example of the effectiveness of brainwashing. He has a choice to make, he can leave the military and take care of his young child or he can return to Iraq. He is actually pondering going back to Iraq therefore putting the militaries needs before his own childs.
