ObamaFucked Up

HIS WORD is far and away the most important and vital asset obama has. The American people's trust that what he says is TRUE.

The most important task President Obama has is to erase 30 years of bullshit republican propaganda and replace it with truth and common sense. To re-educate and re-orient the populace. That will pave the way to all the reforms that need to occur and set the foundation that will rally the american people behind him and follow where he leads them.

That is why his early compromises on his lobbyist rule was EXCRUCIATINGLY harmful, and that rule should have been followed to the letter. Period. And Geither and Daschle, after the tax screw-ups became public, should have been directed to fall on their swords for the cause. It would have established TRUST in the american public. It would have started the precedent they could take him AT HIS WORD.

The most vital job President Obama has is not the immediate economy or Afghanistan or Iran ... it is preparing the american public for what needs to be done to save this country from truly catastrophic circumstances, and that flies in the TEETH of everything the republicans have been putting out for all those years.

The american people must trust Obama and believe what he says is the truth, they need to take him AT HIS WORD. When that is accomplished, Obama can tell them the factual truth of America's situation and they will be open to new understandings and realities and they will FOLLOW where he leads them.

That is why I consider his compromises on the lobbyist rule and allowing Geither and Daschle to be confirmed disastrous. It compromises that trust and HIS WORD. It gives the republicans a massive opening to question everyting he says later on in challenging republican orthodoxy. "Obama didn't even keep his word on his lobbyist rule for a day before he violated it, how can you trust what he is saying now" etc. etc. ad infinitum variatum.

There are no such things as irreplacable PERSONS in his administration, but there ARE such things as irreplacable credibility and principles.

When all is said and done, this may well go down as the biggest fuck-up in Obama's presidency and considering the problems in the immediate future, which will dwarf the present problems, gargantuan though they be, that decision to compromise might well be the difference between a successful presidency and a failed presidency and all that follow from those results.
